A Look at Some of My WordPress Work

In a senior role within an agency team, contributed to the ongoing development and support of a large portfolio of 10–20 WordPress sites for a major enterprise-level client. These properties spanned marketing sites, editorial blogs, and a handful of event-driven microsites, several of which required coordinated work on faster timelines. All were built on the WordPress block editor and maintained simultaneously with shifting priorities across sprints.

The engagement combined feature development with substantial modernization work. New blocks, templates, and user-facing components were added regularly as part of evolving design and marketing initiatives. In parallel, the team was steadily improving the legacy codebase, bringing it in line with current engineering standards, strengthening performance, and raising site reliability.

Accessibility was a consistent part of the workflow. External audits identified issues and opportunities; the team remediated them to meet common WCAG AA expectations, improving usability and compliance across the portfolio.

Throughout the project, work was performed within a structured Git workflow and a sprint-based Agile environment with peer reviews and shared technical decision-making. The outcome was a more stable, faster, and more maintainable set of sites that supported the client’s increasing demands with greater consistency and resilience.

Summary

I supported a large engineering effort reviewing and remediating dozens of WordPress microsites for a Fortune 100 consumer packaged goods company. These properties varied by region, language, and purpose, and were built by multiple external teams over time. My role was to evaluate each site’s codebase, identify issues affecting security and performance, and bring them into alignment with WordPress VIP coding standards and enterprise guidelines.

What I Did

Conducted detailed audits of many independent WordPress codebases with varying architectures
Identified issues related to code quality, performance bottlenecks, long-term maintainability, and potential security vulnerabilities
Remediated problems to meet WordPress VIP coding standards and established internal engineering requirements
Ensured consistent application of best practices across sites developed by different teams across regions
Supported internationalization needs for multi-language and region-specific microsites
Worked within a structured Git-based code review workflow, collaborating with other agency engineers

A Look at Some of My Laravel Work

This project centered on replacing a legacy application with a faster, more flexible subscription platform designed around the full TALL stack: Laravel, Livewire, Alpine.js, Tailwind, and Filament. The new architecture consolidated data from multiple external APIs, introduced reliable Stripe-powered subscriptions, and delivered a significantly improved workflow for both users and administrators.

A ground-up database design created a cleaner structure for long-term growth, and a structured migration brought data forward from the older React system without disruption. Senior engineering leadership provided technical direction, code review standards, and mentoring within a small development team. Deployments and infrastructure ran through AWS, giving the platform a stable, scalable foundation.

The result was a modern, maintainable application that performed better, offered clearer user experiences, and positioned the client for future expansion.
